FC Barcelona
As one of the most famous and successful sports clubs in the world with a fanbase spanning the globe, Barcelona’s football team (aka soccer in the U.S.), FC Barcelona, continues to attract talented players at the pinnacle of their careers. Attending a football match at Camp Nou, an arena which holds nearly 100,000 people, is a true bucket list item for many. Cava
Just as visitors seek out Champagne in France and Prosecco in Italy, they should indulge in Cava when in Barcelona. The refreshing sparkling wine originated near Barcelona in the 19th century. Antoni Gaudi’s Architecture
The works of this eclectic Catalan (the name of the region Barcelona is in) Modernist architect are scattered throughout the city including well-known works such as Güell, Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. His masterpiece, the massive basilica Sagrada Familia, has been under construction since 1882 and will ultimately be the world’s tallest church. Montjuïc
The 1929 World’s Fair and several events from the 1992 Olympic Games took place on this hill, leaving behind many structures for locals and tourists to enjoy today. You can also find the 17th century Montjuïc Castle along with exceptional art museums, gardens, and dramatic views of the city nearby.
