Luxe Listing: Pioneertown Big Horn Ranch
Pioneertown, California was originally founded by character actor Dick Curtis along with 17 investors, which included actors Roy Rogers and Gene Autry, who had the vision to convert a patch of land into a western wonderland. The area was transformed into an 1880s-style western town that has been used as both a tourist attraction and a motion picture set. Since its creation, over 140 western films and television shows have been filmed in the town. False-facades which include a hotel, a church and a barbershop were installed on the town’s Mane Street and still provide entertainment and enjoyment to visitors today.

Just steps away from Pioneertown lies this stunning home situated on 19 acres on the edge of a 25,000-acre mountain preserve with proximity to hiking and horseback riding trails. The 4-bedroom, 4-bath space was designed by New York jewelry designer Yves Kamioner, who incorporated many of the home’s original details into its new design. “Old West” features, including a Train Caboose and a grand Saloon, have been updated and restored to create a guestroom and recreation space for guests.
The home offers a tranquil getaway to residents along with comfortable touches that include cozy living and dining room areas and vaulted ceilings that add a rustic, “western” feel. Glass walls throughout the home provide breathtaking views of warm sunsets and surrounding scenery.

Although the town’s days of Hollywood stardom may be over, the area has recently received a flood of trendy visitors from Los Angeles who frequent the local live music venue Pappy & Harriet’s. Famous visitors to the bar have included Paul McCartney and lead singer of Led Zepplin, Robert Plant.
